Introducing the New Teacher Wishlist Program: A Community-Wide Effort to Support Our Schools

At the CU Schools Foundation (CUSF), we know that when teachers have the tools they need, students thrive. That’s why we’re excited to launch our Teacher Wishlist Program—a simple, innovative way for the community to ensure every classroom across Champaign and Urbana is stocked with the supplies needed for learning, growth, and creativity.

How It Works

The Teacher Wishlist Program uses the established platform TeacherLists.com to streamline the process of sharing and fulfilling classroom needs. Here’s how it all comes together:

  1. Teachers Create Wishlists: Educators can easily create their wishlists directly on the platform. Need help? CUSF is ready to assist!
  2. Classroom Correspondence: Teachers can share their personalized lists in newsletters, emails, or parent communications.
  3. Community Engagement: CUSF will publicize these lists through our dedicated webpage and point community members, businesses, and Adopt-A-School partners toward them year-round.

Whether teachers need basic classroom necessities or supplies for special projects, this program makes it easy for the community to step in and help.

Why It Matters

Equity Across All Schools
Our goal is to ensure that every classroom in all 31 schools across Champaign and Urbana has what it needs—not just for the basics, but for the extraordinary moments that make education unforgettable.

Year-Round Support
Learning doesn’t stop, and neither should the flow of resources to our schools. By keeping the wishlist program active throughout the year, we can address needs as they arise, from restocking essential supplies to helping with one-of-a-kind classroom projects.

Connecting the Community
The Teacher Wishlist Program is a perfect example of how small acts of generosity can lead to big impacts. By engaging community members and Adopt-A-School partners, we’re strengthening the bond between schools and the wider Champaign-Urbana community.

How You Can Help

  • Teachers: Visit TeacherLists.com to create your wishlist or reach out to us for assistance.
  • Community Members: Check out the lists and donate supplies to classrooms in need.
  • Adopt-A-School Partners: Use the wishlists as a guide to support your adopted schools in meaningful ways.

Building a Brighter Future Together

The Teacher Wishlist Program is about more than just supplies—it’s about showing our educators and students that they are valued and supported by their community. With your help, we can ensure every classroom is equipped to inspire learning, creativity, and success.

Let’s rally together to make sure every teacher has the tools they need and every student has the opportunities they deserve. Visit our Teacher Wishlist Program page (coming soon!) and join us in empowering our schools! If you want to pitch in now, several Urbana long term substitute teachers have Teacher Wishlists that are already live on the site! Check them out here.
