We are thrilled to announce that Scott Miller, owner and operator of SamCo Management/Jersey Mike’s Subs in Champaign, has taken the next step in his commitment to local education by joining the CU Schools Foundation Principal’s Circle Community Partners for the 2025–26 school year, beginning in July 2025.

As a proud Champaign–Urbana public schools alum and former Distinguished Alumni Honoree (2015), Miller (Centennial HS graduate – 2002) embodies the spirit of giving back to the community that helped to shape his journey.

Why This Partnership Matters

1. Local Roots, Local Impact
Miller owns nine Jersey Mike’s Subs locations across Illinois, including stores in Champaign, Bloomington, Springfield, East Peoria, Normal, Rantoul, Quincy, Galesburg and Danville . His deep ties to Champaign—and career built here—make this support especially meaningful to our 32 public schools.

2. Strategic Support for the 2025–26 School Year
With membership in the Principal’s Circle, Miller joins a top-tier cohort of donors providing flexible, unrestricted support. These funds will fuel classroom innovations, student enrichment programs, teacher grants, and scholarships across our district.

3. An Inspiring Example for Students
Having previously been honored as a Distinguished Local Business Community Impact Honoree, Miller is showing students how leadership, entrepreneurship, and generosity can intersect right here at home.

What This Means for Our Schools

Principal’s Circle contributions enable CU Schools Foundation to:

  • Launch teacher innovation grants, empowering educators to try creative classroom projects.

  • Support student enrichment in arts, STEM, leadership, athletics, and more.

  • Grow scholarship opportunities that open doors for local youth.

  • Meet emerging needs of programs across all 32 Champaign–Urbana public schools.
