What is CU Schools Foundation?
The Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation is an independent, non-profit corporation designed to enhance the quality of education in Champaign-Urbana through community support of the public schools. The Foundation’s goal, in working with two school systems cooperatively, is to make a difference in our schools by providing valuable new opportunities for our students and teachers. By providing the “venture capital” for sound and innovative ideas in education, the Foundation aims to strengthen the ability of our schools to prepare our students for the rest of their lives. As of FY16, CUSF has disbursed over $1,600,000.00 of locally-raised dollars to our schools, via grants, targeted gifts and scholarships. We have served thousands of children as a result.
The supporters of the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation (CUSF) are committed to enriching the community by encouraging educational initiatives and facilitating excellence in education in the public schools of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. In 2013, CUSF announced it’s strategic refocusing to support Student Achievement. All aspects of our activities will support student achievement through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) and health and wellness. Teacher grants, special programs, passthroughs and district support will enhance the strategic goals of CUSF.
Our organizational mission is to build a stronger community by developing and supporting innovative programs to make all CU public school students college/career ready.
